Fernbank Science Museum

The girls spent Sunday afternoon before church at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta.  Here are some pictures:

Dinner for French Students

We have friends in another town near Atlanta (Dunwoody) who also hosted a French student, Hugo.  We had a dinner together.  Here's Domi at dinner, with Alli and our friend, Rich:

Here is the rest of the dinner party (from left to right), Beth, Hugo, Kathy, Alex and Kaitlin:

A visit to Emory University

After the gardens, everyone came to Emory (where Jeff works) to have lunch and stroll around campus for a while:

Here is the business school building, named after Robert Goizueta, a former CEO of the Coca-Cola company:

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Beth led a tour for students through the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  Alli and Domi went along to learn some botany.  Here's a picture of part of the garden:

Fondu for dinner

We went out to dinner at a fondu restaurant near us called the Melting Pot:

Andrew and Alli got a little silly:

Monopoly

A very noisy game - a winner was not easily determined:

Quiche Lorraine

Domi brought some recipes, so the girls decided to cook dinner:

It was great, and there was discussion about who would get the last piece:

Playing Wii games

First, you need a character to "correctly" play the games:

Then concentration on the faces of the racers:

Guest room

Our house has three bedrooms upstairs, and Domi will be staying in the guest room.  Beth redecorated the room this spring and here are two pictures:

Domi Birthday Party

Pictures from a little birthday party on Domi's first full day in Atlanta, July 16:

Pets there to help.  Barkley likes cake:

Ruby was tired after all the celebration:

Domitille arrives, July 15

We wanted to make sure she was able to find us at the Atlanta airport, so we made a sign and got some balloons:

The luggage was waiting for us and so we were ready to go.  First a picture:

On the way home, we stopped to get something to eat at a fast food chain, Steak and Shake.  Our waitress, Marie, was from Haiti and was able to speak some French with Domi:

Then home for a good night's sleep after a long day.
